The diagnostic thresholds do not change with age: the cutoffs for prediabetes and diabetes are the same at 25 and 75.
Treatment targets, though, are personalized. In older adults, doctors often accept slightly higher targets to avoid dangerous lows, especially with insulin or frailty in the picture.
