Does apple cider vinegar help digestion or weight loss?
Answered by the AskDoc Medical Team · Medically reviewed under our Medical Director, MBBS
The honest reading: small studies show a minor blunting of after-meal blood sugar and, at best, a kilogram or two of weight difference over months. Nothing resembling the transformation claims.
It does not detox anything, and straight vinegar erodes tooth enamel and can irritate the throat and stomach.
Diluted with water around meals it is safe for most people, so enjoy it if you like it. Just assign it the role of a condiment, not a treatment.
