Common questions
Why keep a symptom diary?
Because memory is a terrible historian. In the appointment, "how often do the headaches come?" usually gets a guess; a diary answers it exactly: 9 times this month, mostly severity 3, often after short nights. Patterns like timing, triggers and trend are what turn a vague complaint into something a doctor can actually work with, and diaries routinely shorten the road to a diagnosis.
What should I record?
The minimum that you will actually keep doing: what, how bad, and when, which this diary captures in three taps. A short note helps when there is an obvious context: skipped lunch, poor sleep, a stressful day, a new medicine. Recording every detail every day burns people out by week two; ten seconds does not.
How long should I track before seeing a doctor?
Two to four weeks is usually enough for a pattern to show, and it matches what doctors ask for with headaches, gut symptoms, palpitations and sleep problems. Do not wait to finish a diary if a symptom is severe, new and dramatic, or getting steadily worse; go be seen, and bring whatever entries you have.
Is my diary private?
Yes. Without an account, entries live only in your browser and never leave the device. Signed in, they are stored securely in your private health record, visible to nobody else, and you can delete any entry or everything at any time.
